Byron Clay, J.D.

President

Byron Clay is the President and Co-Founder of Diverse Workforce Consultants (DWC). Utilizing his extensive Human Resources experience and legal background, Byron collaborates with employers to combat union organizing activity. His experience makes him especially well suited to work in the Healthcare, Manufacturing, Logistics, Retail and Education industries as well as with not for profit organizations. Byron helps  clients and law firms create and/or maintain work environments that are productive and composed of satisfied, union-free employees.

For over 25 years, Byron has worked with large and small organizations in pre- and post-petition union drives, vulnerability audits, corporate campaigns, and strike avoidance situations to identify general human resource issues to protect his clients’ union free status. He created DWC to address concerns of a younger, more diverse workforce. He introduces younger consultants into the field of labor management consulting and trains them to address the needs of today’s diverse workforce. He also strategizes with them to maximize social media and technological advancements to communicate with and educate employees and management.   

Byron specializes in a multitude of labor management components. Of particular note is his aptitude in negotiations strategy, management training, the National Labor Relations Act, the Railway Labor Act, investigation training, and employee communications. Over the years, he has developed a unique and extremely effective approach to educating employees on collective bargaining. Similarly, his ability to empower management with employee selection, retention, diversity training and skills, and union avoidance tools and strategies are unmatched.

Byron holds a degree in law from Howard University and a degree in Political Science from Northern Illinois University. As one of the most experienced consultants in the industry, his skills are unrivaled. His winning record proves that Byron brings positive results.

On a lighter note, Byron spends most of his free time supporting his son’s high school basketball team, playing tennis, and boating with his family.
